Credit Card Application Process Desktop Website Usability Testing Findings
The Task:
Through extensive usability testing findings, our team has revamped the desktop website to enhance user experience. I took the lead in Ul design for the web app, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly interface. With a strong emphasis on UX research, we strive to provide a platform that addresses the needs and preferences of our users.
My Role
To help redesign their credit card landing page and to have a deeper insight to the thoughts of our users and find out what does and doesn't work for them.
Ul Design
I lead the interface design for the web app.
UX Research
I helped conduct user interviews, affinity mapping and usability testing of the prototype.
Project Goals
- Discuss Key Findings and figure out the issues that users encounter when using our website.
- To have a deeper insight to the thoughts of our users and find out what does and doesn't work for them.
- To determine the next steps the team should take in improving the site based on findings on the usability test.
Research Methods:
User interviews
Affinity mapping
User flows (Usability Testing)
Based on the project goals, we started formulating research questions that will help us decide our interview questions.
What is more convenient for our target users to use, the web or mobile?
What pain points do our target users encounter when using the app?
When finding a credit card on a website, what kind of experience do our target users desire?
What kind of benefits do our target users desire/ envision after purchasing a credit card?
After we have conducted our interviews, the team and I did affinity mapping to gather qualitative information about our users and grouped it by category.
After we designed the screens, we started to build a prototype to send to another group of users to test the experience.
Overall, the usability test responses were positive. The testers could relate to the design as it resembles something that they use on a daily basis. They also liked how easy it was to claim a benefit.
